The Womenpreneur Tour is a groundbreaking initiative that was launched in 2019 as a collaborative effort between the SANAD Entrepreneurship Academy and Womenpreneur Organization. This initiative was born from a shared vision: to map, visit, and highlight the remarkable female talents driving technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship across the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region. The primary goal of the tour has been to assess the state of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in these regions and to facilitate targeted investments in women and girls through capital, resources, mentorship, and advocacy. Since its inception, the Womenpreneur Tour has aimed to connect with and uplift disruptive actors within the Arab ecosystem. By meeting female technology experts, digital innovators, and entrepreneurs, the tour not only sought to learn from their experiences and challenges but also to share their stories with the broader world. The Womenpreneur Tour’s original orange van has already made significant strides, with stops in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Jordan, Lebanon, and Egypt. These visits have provided a comprehensive understanding of the entrepreneurial landscape in these regions, paving the way for more tailored interventions and support for women entrepreneurs.
Building on the success of its initial phase, the Womenpreneur Tour is now expanding its impact to Sub-Saharan Africa with a new, transformative initiative. The Womenpreneur Tour Africa is set to empower, connect, and celebrate female-led startups, particularly in the agritech and fintech sectors in Ghana & Kenya. Through this African tour, the initiative aims to offer these entrepreneurs a platform to showcase their achievements, inspire others, and create cross-border connections that foster collaboration and knowledge exchange. By linking womenpreneurs in Sub-Saharan Africa with their counterparts in the MENA region, the tour hopes to encourage exponential growth in innovation, investment, and support across these critical sectors.
